Shiftover AI

The shift log for hotel front desks.

At most front offices the pass-down log is a binder, a Word file or a thread in the group chat. The morning shift reads all of it to find the two things that still matter.

Shiftover puts an AI agent on the desk. Your team types what happened as it happens, the agent writes it up as the shift report, and the morning shift starts with a brief of everything still open.

01 · Overnight to morning

The pass-down log, written as the night happens.

Check-in problems, complaints, noise, no-shows and maintenance go into the log in a sentence each. The agent records the room, the type, the severity and any follow-up, keeps the night auditor's own words, and waits for them to confirm.

Before logging, the morning team reads and acknowledges a brief: open items by priority, the pointers the night auditor left for them, and anything notable from overnight. Anything nobody updated during the night is flagged when the report is submitted.

Night · 23:00–07:00

Every entry is stamped with the time it was logged, and staff can set the time it actually happened when they catch up after a rush.

Pinned until closed

Acknowledge brief

Maintenance follow-ups stay pinned at the top of the desk screen with an owner until someone closes them with a resolution note.

02 · Approval

Reports your front office manager can approve from a phone.

Submitted reports land in a review queue, oldest first. The manager can comment on any entry, return a report to its author with notes, or approve it, which locks it. Later corrections are added as dated, attributed addenda.

Managers get an email when reports are submitted, one at a time or as a daily digest, and right away for high-severity entries.

03 · Patterns

See which rooms and hours keep the desk busy.

Because every entry is structured, the dashboard shows what keeps happening at your desk without anyone reading back through the binder. Your whole desk team can see it, not only the managers.

Busiest hours
Entry volume by type, hour, day and desk, against the previous period.
Rooms that keep coming up
Recurring issues by room, like the same room logged three times in 30 days.
Open items that sit
How many are open, how old they are and how long they take to close.

Questions from front office teams.

Does Shiftover connect to our property management system?

No. Shiftover runs alongside your property management system rather than connecting to it, and reports and data can be exported to PDF and CSV.

How does the night audit hand over to the morning shift?

The night auditor writes pointers for the next shift and submits their report. The morning shift starts with a brief of open items, those pointers and anything notable from overnight, and acknowledges it before logging.

Can the front office manager approve reports from a phone?

Yes. Review works in a phone browser. Managers can comment on any entry, return a report with comments, or approve it, which locks it.
